This is what to experience:
Arrival is at Tromsø Airport. From Tromsø, the journey continues by express boat through the fjords to Finnsnes (approx. 1.5 hours), where the resort’s minibus awaits the group. From there, it is about a 45‑minute scenic drive to the resort. (In the winter season SAS has 13 departures to Tromsø directly from Copenhagen; otherwise, flights via Oslo are recommended, from where there are many daily departures heading north).
The resort is intimate and exclusive in size, yet offers everything needed for an unforgettable and truly unique winter stay with the NORTHERN LIGHTS, deep tranquility, and time to unwind.
The food at the resort is of a high international standard, with delicious dishes that round off the day in the best possible way.
Each day can be spent relaxing in the suite with panoramic bedroom windows facing north, watching the sky and the shifting light, or by choosing between a range of winter activities that start directly from the resort:
Fjord safari is highly recommended. A motorboat takes the group out on the nearby fjord, where there is a good chance of spotting sea eagles, seagulls, seals, porpoises and, with a bit of luck, whales. Warm coveralls and life jackets are provided, and then it is simply a matter of settling into a seat on board and enjoying the ride.
The fishing trip is also a favorite. The experienced skipper knows exactly which banks the fish gather on, and it is often surprising how quickly they start biting. Various cod species can be caught here. If a fish of a decent size is landed, the skipper helps with filleting once back on shore, and lunch is secured.
Sea kayaking is suitable for everyone. It is a calm and gentle way to glide through the fjords and experience the islands and raw Arctic nature from a completely different perspective. All equipment is included, and thorough instruction is provided before getting into the kayak.
Snowshoeing is a guided hike with snowshoes up one of the nearby mountains. Along the way, there are countless viewpoints perfect for postcard‑worthy photos, so a camera is a must.
The resort has 4 hot tubs with sweeping views over the Atlantic Ocean. An hour in the warm bubbles under the open, dark winter sky is the perfect way to end a day in the snow. (Bubbles in glasses can also be arranged.)
On Senja there are also opportunities for ice fishing and ski summit tours. These can be arranged for groups that wish to explore even more of the Arctic landscape.
